Lac Qui Parle - The Lake That Speaks

The Lac qui Parle Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Minnesota was established in 1936 as a flood control project. It became a wildlife refuge in 1957. 

  • The refuge became a top destination for goose hunting, with up to 150,000 geese migrating through in the fall. 

  • As many as 12,000 hunters would participate in the regulated goose hunt each year. 

  • The refuge was the epicenter of goose hunting in the 1980s.

 We specialize in providing exclusive access to pit blinds and managing multiple privately owned ponds, guaranteeing a remarkable outdoor hunting experience. 

We have 4 massive 10 person pits and 3 privately owned ponds
setup with permanent blinds for our customers. 


 

What to expect on our hunts. 

Field Goose Hunts

Our field goose hunts take place in private dry grain fields located around the LQP WMA/Refuge area. We host our hunts out of Pit blinds, Lucky Duck A-Frame blinds and our mobile trailer blind.

MMO Pits are will hunt 8 hunters and two guides. Pits have heat, 12 volt lighting, chairs and a blackstone cooktop that the guides will use to cook you breakfast. 

The blinds and field access we have is located in multiple areas/directions around the refuge and in great flight paths for both migrating waterfowl and birds flying out to feed. We set large decoy spreads of high quality decoys and put you teamed up with experienced guides that can call, work and finish geese into shooting range.

Pre hunt safety meeting and liability release waivers before entering the blind. 

Morning hunt and breakfast cooked in the blind. 

Lunch break around 10-11am 

Meet back at the field early afternoon for evening hunt.

Evening hunt.

Brief meeting after hunt to see the hunters off and or plan for the next days hunt. 

Duck / Goose Water Hunts

Our water hunts take place on private owned or leased ponds around the LQP WMA/Refuge area. We host our water hunts out of permanent constructed dry duck blinds located on the edges of our private ponds. 

MMO dry pond blinds hold up to 8 hunters and 2 guides. The blinds come with benches/chairs, 12 volt lighting and a blackstone cooktop the guides will use to cook you breakfast. 

MMO water hunts are located in strategic locations around the area to funnel migrating waterfowl and also to be in the flight path of local ducks and geese. We set both large semi permanent spreads and set decoys the morning of the hunt in some locations. Our guides will have the blinds brushed, decoys set and they will work the birds into range for a successful hunt. 

No waders required (Unless you bring your own dog for retrieving) 

We will drive you right to the blind in our crew cab side by side and or truck once harvest has occurred. We pride ourselves on making our water hunts as stress free as possible for you and your group!

Lunch break around 10-11am 

Brief meeting after the morning hunt to see hunters off or make a plan for the following day.
